Kent started in the JYSK Web team in April 2008. He came to JYSK from The Danish Technological Institute and before this he graduated from universities in Denmark with degrees in Scandinavian Language and Literature and later on in Web Communication. In other words Kent’s approach to working with web is based on a fundamental interest in Communication in a broader perspective.
At JYSK Kent is responsible for maintaining the websites of 11 countries in the JYSK Nordic Group and he takes part in the ongoing improvements of the company’s Web Communication which is a growing activity within JYSK.
In his spare time Kent likes to run and to play handball and football. Music has been a big source of inspiration for Kent in many years – he listens primarily to rock and try his best to play the guitar as well.
The JYSK name covers a large group with JYSK stores in 32 countries. The JYSK Group, owned by Lars Larsen, today consists of approximately 1.400 stores, primarily located in Europe. The turnover for the group is in the area of 1.9 bn euros.
JYSK is a leader on the European market in all articles for sleeping and living.
Growth is stable and controlled. The staff counts almost 14.000 people who work from a professional attitude: JYSK want to give the customers a great offer, optimal service and to be inspiring, down-to-earth and good colleagues.

In this case study Kent will present how JYSK, a Danish retailer, has developed an online product catalogue. Through this he tries to share thoughts on how to create an online succes in a company that traditionally concentrates on offline marketing. What are the challenges? What are the criteria of success and how do you aim for success with few resources given for web marketing?
