Graphic Art Portal: A detailed account of a complex portal redesign

The presentation will focus on the challenges ans lessons learned from the redesign of the HP Graphic Arts Portal

HP’s GAP program delivers targeted engaging content every two weeks through a Feature program. The goal of these feature pieces is to drive awareness, engagement, and preference for Graphic Arts product portfolio worldwide. Each bi-weekly feature is targeted to one of three target audiences, they include; Creative, Print Service Providers, or Technical.

The presentation will focus on the following topics:

  • Information architecture: how to align the new portal architecture with the business objectives
  • Content migration: The do and don'ts of complex content migration from static HTML to a dynamic WCMS
  • Template management: What is the best strategy to provide manageable templates that can cope with constraints of a Web 2.0 user experience and data driven content
  • Lessons learned from the project (process, design and metrics)
